The School of Computing at the University of Leeds is a highly ranked academic department (top 10 in UK REF2021) with a vibrant research culture and a commitment to excellence in our teaching. We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Distributed Systems (analogous to tenure track Assistant Professor) to join our internationally outstanding Distributed Computing Systems and System Engineering activity.
This position provides an exceptional opportunity to pursue interdisciplinary research, in collaboration with extensive distributed systems activity in Leeds and beyond. We are looking for an academic with a proven track record of research in Distributed Systems, evidence of interdisciplinarity, and an ability to teach more broadly in Computer Science in a research-intensive Russell Group University.
We are seeking candidates working in distributed computing systems and related areas of software engineering and intelligent systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow and contribute through working collaboratively in a dynamic, diverse and inclusive environment. You will join us in enhancing knowledge, innovation, education, student experience and the reputation of the University with a focus on quality and excellence.
We have a vibrant community of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers supported by a large portfolio of external research funding. We are core partners in major pan-University initiatives, such as the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics, Robotics Leeds, and Centre for HealthTech Innovation, as well as in leading national centres such as the Alan Turing Institute.
