Who we need
We have an exciting opportunities to become part of our Pastoral Team at Nottingham College Adams Campus supporting our students to become ‘Future Ready’. This will be across a range of levels in Fashion & Textiles and Hair & Beauty. The pastoral team are also involved in supporting many social events and trips out with our students where we have a lot of fun.
As a Personal Development Tutor you will work closely with a Pastoral Team at the Adams Campus to develop and deliver an effective and efficient tutorial programme. This will include facilitating sessions designed to develop personal characteristics and social skills, employability skills and provide students with the support and guidance to enable them to achieve success, develop their potential and progress to their next level.
You should hold GCSE A* - C in English and Maths, or equivalent. Be able to demonstrate evidence of managing groups of student, good ICT and administration skills. As this is a post requiring group delivery of tutorials, there is an expectation that you will hold a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
What you’ll bring
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the student experience is of the highest quality and support students to broaden their experiences and take advantage of opportunities from a college wide perspective and beyond.
You should be passionate about student’s achieving their potential and be proactive in putting the mechanisms of support in place to make sure we prepare students not only for college life but also for life and work beyond college. You will be responsible for looking after a number of tutor groups, delivering group tutorials, meeting with students on a 1-1 basis (where appropriate), supporting attendance and liaising with parents/guardians.
The ideal candidate will have experience and a passion for the pastoral care of students and be able to signpost students to the most appropriate support mechanism efficiently.
This post will have a training/induction period and then ongoing training throughout your time with the college to ensure we maintain the highest standards of education for our students and professional development for our staff.
