About the Role:

We are looking for a Teacher in Computer Science to join us at The Bedford Sixth Form. As a Teacher you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels
  • supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • Managing students’ learning and provide a high quality learning experience.
  • Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
  • Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programmes and learning opportunities.

About you:

  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Certificate in Education or equivalent in line with the Statutory Instrument
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent Current experience of teaching A-Level Computer Science.
  • Experience of teaching in a Sixth Form or FE College environment with students 16 – 18 year olds
  • Experience of using ILT to enhance teaching and learning
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
  • Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
