The role

Based in the Diabetes and Metabolism Group, within Learning and Research at Southmead Hospital, you will join a vibrant team involved in a variety of research. Primarily engaged in a programme of studies into the causes, prediction and ultimate prevention of type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes and other autoimmune diseases.

This role is designed to a provide support for the coordination and testing of a series of national and international research cohorts and generating preliminary data for grant applications using a variety of skills including analysis of islet autoantibodies, pancreatic markers, genetic susceptibility and cfDNA. 
The role will be split between the office and the laboratory, with the main priority focused on laboratory work. The role holder will need to manage their time carefully to ensure all aspects of the role are fulfilled.

What will you be doing?

The post-holder will provide laboratory support providing data for a series of different studies using radioimmunoassays, luciferase assays, PCR, ddPCR and ELISA. They will also help with data interpretation and updating study databases.
