The School of Health and Social Care has an excellent reputation for teaching and research. Our academic members of staff include occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychological therapists, nurses, social workers, oral health practitioners and sociologists. The School is run over two campuses: Southend and Colchester. Academic staff are supported by a team of administrative staff based at both Colchester and Southend campuses. The School is undergoing exciting changes and expansion with the introduction of a host of new courses, including Speech and Language Therapy Apprenticeships and the Masters in Global Public Health.

Duties of the Role
As part of this exciting expansion, we are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology who would contribute developing the lived experience element of clinical psychology training. Our programme is growing research collaborations with the wider university including the Psychology Department and other social science and clinical research groups and centres.
The role will require management, administration and organisation alongside support of students on our existing programme, and generally enhancing how we involve people with lived experience in all aspects of the clinical psychology training.
Skills and qualifications required
To be successful you will hold a relevant doctoral level research degree or equivalent professional experience or practice or be close to completion of PhD and have Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate. Registration as a clinical psychologist with HCPC or ability to obtain is preferable.
The successful candidate will possess substantial experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to engage in teaching and learning support in engaging and innovative ways. The ability and willingness to complement and continuously enhance the department/school’s education strengths and areas of planned development is also essential.
