The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) has an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Finance Business Partner within our friendly and supportive Central Finance Business Partnering team at Central Saint Martins.

You will play a crucial role in providing reliable financial and management information, and customer focussed support to budget holders and stakeholders from across the University. Working closely with budget holders, you will support the preparation of budgets and assist with the quarterly forecasting process, to ensure budget holders can meet reporting requirements and effectively manage externally funded activities.

You will also assist key stakeholders with monthly budget reporting and variance analysis, using your professional knowledge and experience to support appropriate and timely business decisions.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial management and decision-making processes within a fast-paced and creative environment.

About you

This role is ideal for someone who is actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification and is looking to further their skills and experience in the workplace. You will demonstrate a good knowledge of finance and management information needs, as well as a strong understanding of financial controls and procedures.

Experience in financial planning, budget setting, forecasting, and variance analysis is preferred, along with experience of producing financial information and management accounts to tight deadlines.

We are looking for a strong team-player who can also work independently and without supervision, who demonstrates excellent planning and organisational skills. You will also exhibit effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance staff in a clear and meaningful manner.
