We have an exciting opportunity in the University Health Service for a Medical Secretary to join our team. We are looking for an individual who has great communication skills and is keen to work as part of a team to provide excellent service to all of our colleagues and patients. You will be enthusiastic about looking after the needs of our student population.

The Medical Secretary will provide full administrative and secretarial support to clinical staff, utilising specific knowledge of medical terminology, general practice, secondary and community care services, and university services and procedures.  Additionally, the post holder will deal with enquiries from university departments, patients and their carers and/or relatives, and other healthcare providers.

About the Department

The University Health Service is an NHS GP practice which supports the health needs of the students of The University of Sheffield and their dependents. The team at UHS consists of GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, as well as pharmacists, physiotherapists and other healthcare workers.  The clinical team is supported by a range of administration teams.  We deliver a range of NHS services which have been developed in order to provide a tailored service to our patient population.
