Faculty / Directorate
The Strategic Planning and Insight Directorate at DMU plays an essential role in guiding the university’s future by delivering expert analysis, strategic insights, and comprehensive data management. Our team is instrumental in supporting the university's strategic, operational, and academic planning by collating, analysing, and disseminating a wide range of management information. This information is tailored to meet both internal and external reporting requirements, providing valuable intelligence that reflects the external policy environment and supports the university's internal needs. The Directorate’s work underpins strategic decision-making, performance management, and policy development at DMU.
Role
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Statutory Returns Analyst to join our Strategic Planning and Insight Directorate. In this critical role, you will support the delivery of the university’s statutory returns requirements, working closely with the Statutory Returns and Assurance Manager. You will play a key role in the development, communication, and continuous improvement of processes related to statutory and regulatory returns. Your expertise will ensure that DMU’s data reporting is accurate, compliant, and strategically advantageous. You will also engage with stakeholders across the university to foster a community of practice around intelligence-led planning, enhancing the quality and utility of our management information and business intelligence outputs.
Ideal Candidate
You will possess a deep understanding of statutory data and its applications within higher education and have extensive experience in managing statutory returns, data quality, and issue resolution, as well as proficiency with business intelligence tools and analytics. Your ability to provide expert advice on the implications of regulations and guidance from external bodies will be crucial in supporting the development of DMU’s student record system.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as you will work collaboratively with faculties and directorates to promote intelligence-led planning. Additionally, you will contribute to the broader statutory assurance framework and play an active role in key cross-university projects, ensuring that our data governance processes and reporting standards are consistently high.
