Novel Thermal Management of Power Electronic Devices: High Power High Frequency Planar Gunn Diodes

We are seeking a student who has or will be graduating with a first or upper second class honours degree in electronic engineering or physics, with proven experimental ability , is required to work on a large collaborative EPSRC funded research programme ‘Novel Thermal Management of Power Electronic Devices: High Power High Frequency Planar Gunn Diodes’ from 0ct 1st 2010.
This position will be based at De Montfort University developing infra-red thermal imaging of novel electronic devices and is funded for three years and the applicant will be required to register for a PhD. The research partners are the Universities of Bristol, Glasgow and Aberdeen and ample opportunities will be given for close liaison.
