Salary: £23,352 to £27,047 pa - Grade 5

We wish to appoint a senior research administrator as a key member of the Centre for Sustainable Futures (CSF) team, to support Professor Stephen Sterling, as Head of Sustainability Education, and other members of the CSF team. This is an anchor role in the further implementation and development of CSF’s strategy and programme which is designed to support teaching and learning for sustainability across the university. You will also work as a member of the university’s broader teaching and learning support team, liaising with close colleagues in Education Development and PedRIO (our pedagogic research institute), as well with the student body, and academic and professional staff across the university.

You will support and be involved in the delivery of CSF’s research strategy, as well as support the delivery of CSF’s curriculum support strategy, through both research and administrative tasks. Plymouth University has a strong strategic commitment to the sustainability agenda, and CSF has the responsibility to drive the teaching and learning dimension of our whole institutional approach to this ambition. This is an exciting opportunity for someone - who can combine flair and passion for sustainability with organisational ability and attention to detail - to be a key part of a small but dynamic and motivated team.

You should hold a minimum of a good first degree or equivalent with a strong research component. You should have excellent verbal and communication skills appropriate to the academic community, be able to work using your own initiative, set and work effectively to deadlines and be a creative thinker able to bring your own ideas and suggestions to CSF’s work programme.

This is a fixed term appointment for three years full time, working 37 hours per week, though part-time/job share will be considered.
