GARNet is a BBSRC sponsored network set up to support Arabidopsis and the wider plant community. Its aim is to make sure that the UK Arabidopsis and plant science community remains competitive and productive at the national and international level by helping researchers make the best use of available funding, tools and resources by acting as an information hub for the community.
Your duties will include
- To support the GARNet team in the promotion and establishment of interactions between and amongst plant scientists, funders, policy makers and stakeholders
- To provide relevant information, events and funding news to the UK plant science community
- To maintain an up to date knowledge of the UK plant science sphere
- The promotion of plant science at the national and international level to specialist and non-specialist audiences
This will be a demanding and intellectually stimulating role that calls for a keen interest in the practice and communication of plant science. You will have a PhD in an area of life sciences (or equivalent) along with proven scientific writing and communication skills. You should also have a high level of computer literacy and excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of plant science would be desirable. A willingness to travel to national events as required is also essential
