SWTIRR: dedicated to the better understanding of renal disease and the development of improved treatments for renal patients.
Applications are sought for a full-time 3 year PhD studentship jointly funded by Kidney Research UK and The Kidney Fund.
A suitable candidate, with an upper second or first class degree (or equivalent) and preferably some research experience will be given the opportunity to register for a PhD at St George’s University of London under the joint supervision of Prof Deborah Baines, SGUL and Drs Phanish Mysore and Mark Dockrell of SWTIRR. The placement will be mostly based at St Helier Hospital. The project is an exciting investigation into potentially novel actions of a new class of diabetes drug and how raised sugar levels might mediate renal fibrosis.
