|Placed on:||21st September 2016|
|Closes:||30th October 2016|
Applications are invited for a Research Officer based in the School of Environment, Natural Resources & Geography (SENRGY) at Bangor University to identify energy efficiency measures for the water sector and quantify the economic and environmental gains from their implementation.
The project requires assistance with a whole suite of technical, environmental and economic data from water networks within Wales and Ireland. These data will enable the benchmarking of the water sector in both countries relative to other countries and other industries. Measures to improve efficiencies will need to be identified and prioritised; which will help develop an effective energy auditing system for the water sector. Finally, the economic and environmental benefits of implementing the energy efficiency measures will be quantified through appropriate models.
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant subject area and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specification, as well as extensive linkages and connections in the sector.
Although this is initially a fixed term contract for 12 months; we hope to extend it to 36 months, subject to final confirmation from funders.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence on 1st December 2016, or as soon as possible thereafter.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Dr Prysor Williams, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications will only be accepted via our on-line recruitment website, jobs.bangor.ac.uk. However, in cases of access issues due to disability, paper application forms are available by telephoning 01248 383865.
Interviews will take place soon after.
