Our investment in Engineering and Computing now sees us recruiting a number of academic posts in the School. Our taught programmes are engaged with practice and our BSc (Hons) Computer Games Technology is one of only a handful of programmes accredited by Skillset. The School’s research is organised into a close community of industry-focused inter-disciplinary research groups in Interactive Creative Technologies and AI, Visual Communications and Networks (AVCN) and we have a growing international reputation.

We are looking to appoint outstanding future academics who can add to our profile. You will demonstrate a commitment to high quality, innovative teaching with a global outlook. You will augment our commercial and / or research activities, and will exhibit an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset to enhance the impact of your work.

You should possess a degree in a computing-related subject area, preferably be qualified at Doctoral level. It would also be preferable to have membership of BCS, ACM, IEEE, IET or other relevant professional bodies and/or membership of Higher Education Academy and/or relevant PgCert in Teaching in HE. Relevant experience in 3D games development in C++/OpenGL and games engine design are an essential requirement of the post. In addition, some experience in current teaching practices and methods associated with these areas would be beneficial. Knowledge of Unity, console development and/or virtual reality would be desirable.

The successful candidate will be based at our Paisley Campus with some scheduled activities at our other campus locations. The West of Scotland boasts some of the most stunning countryside and coastline for outdoor and family life. We are close to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, with its rich heritage and vibrant cultural life, and just minutes from the International airport.
