We seek a biomedical data scientist for the APPROACH EU project. The focus of this project is the development of patient stratification algorithms for the disease of Osteoarthitis (OA). To assist the project we are integrating the data of 10 different OA Cohorts from across Europe with a variety of data sources (basic clinical data, questionnaires, imaging data, assays, etc.).
The main responsibility of this post will be to design innovative strategies for data integration and harmonisation so that we can extract the most value from the wealth of data that the project has access to, and inform the patient recruitment of a new longitudinal cohort that will be created as part of the project.
You should have a PhD awarded or nearing completion in data analytics and its applications (or a related field) and be an internationally recognised expert in data analytics and its applications.
This post is available fixed term for 5 years.
The main location of this position is Newcastle University, but there may be some spells of work onsite at the offices of GlaxoSmithKline at Stevenage.
