Lecturer in Hebrew Bible (E&S)

The College wishes to recruit a Lecturer in Hebrew Bible (Education and Scholarship) to deliver modules in biblical Hebrew, Hebrew Bible and biblical interpretation and supervise dissertation students at both undergraduate and taught masters’ levels. This full time post is available from 1st January 2017 to 31st December 2017.  

The successful applicant will possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent in Hebrew Bible/Biblical Studies to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning in this academic area. They will use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students. They will participate in and develop external networks, for example to contribute to student recruitment, facilitate outreach work, or build relationships for future activities. The successful applicant will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review.
