The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher to work under the direction of Professor Anne Marie Healy on a Science Foundation Ireland/Solvotrin Ltd. funded project as part of the AMBER (Advanced Materials and Bioengineering Research) Centre (www.ambercentre.ie).
The project is entitled “The development of microparticle-based solid dosage forms for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency” and will build on Solvotrin’s proprietary technology in the area.
The primary goals of the project are to investigate alternative methods for preparing iron-loaded microparticles, based on spray drying and spray coating techniques, and to develop a tablet formulation based on iron-loaded microparticles – to include formulation and process optimisation.
