KTP Associate - Web Developer

University of Plymouth - KTP and Enterprise Solutions, Research and Innovation

Salary: £21,000 up to £23,400 (+ £4,000 personal development budget)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative web developer to work on an innovative collaboration between Essential 6 and University of Plymouth.

The Role:

The key objective of this joint project is to create an innovative IT driven, secure learning platform to optimise individualised face-to-face and remote training development, delivery and pre and post assessment.

The Candidate:

It is essential that the successful applicant should be a recent graduate / post graduate in a relevant discipline (or demonstrate that they have the equivalent level of recent academic knowledge/research) such as Computing, Computer Science, Computer Security, IT for Business Computer Systems and Networks, with a passion for systems and web development.  

Experience in the areas such as software development, systems design and integration, database design, user interface optimization, web/cloud technologies and app development would be desirable. 

Knowledge of e-learning platforms and information security would be an advantage.

You will also have good interpersonal and communication skills and be personable, enthusiastic and able to engage others in development work.  The successful candidate will also have excellent initiative, attention to detail, be tenacious and have the ability to solve problems creatively. 

There is a possibility for continued employment with Essential 6 once the fixed term project has ended.

The Project:

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is one of Europe’s leading graduate recruitment programmes helping businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills that reside within the UK knowledge base.  The successful candidate will receive technical support and mentoring from 3 University of Plymouth academics, Prof Nathan Clarke, Dr Shirley Atkinson and Prof Anthony Gilbert as well as practical and formal management training and development.

This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week on a fixed term basis for a period of 22 months.  This position will be based in Torquay, Devon.
