The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6. The salary range will be £27,545 - £32,281 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
Applications are invited for 2 Research Technicians in the laboratory of Professor Hans Stauss and Professor Emma Morris. in the Institute of Immunity & Transplantation at the Royal Free Hospital.
The Institute of Immunity & Transplantation is within UCL’s Division of Infection & Immunity. There are more than 12 immunology research groups at the Institute with more than 60 postdoctoral researchers, technicians and PhD Students. Work at the Institute applies immunology research to clinical problems with the goal to develop new immunotherapies for patients. We are looking for a highly motivated Research Technicians with expertise in molecular biology and/or cellular immunology. These posts will offer the opportunity to work with postdoctoral researchers to use genetic tools to engineer T cell specificity and test T cell function in vitro and in vivo. We offer mentoring and provide active support to promote the career development of junior scientists.
The posts are funded by a research grant from Cell Medica and they available for three years in the first instance.
Applicants should have a degree (or equivalent experience) in a biomedical-related subject, as well as significant experience of working in a research laboratory. Experience of flow cytometric analysis of immune cell subsets (preferably T cells) and of working with human blood are desirable requirements. The successful candidates will have good verbal and written communication skills and be willing to provide overarching support to the research activities of the Stauss/Morris lab group.
