As a Post Graduate Academic Assistant you will perform teaching duties appropriate to university lecturing staff for up to half of a normal full-time academic teaching load combined with study for a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Your fees for your Doctor of Philosophy degree will be paid by the University. You will act as a team member within the South Wales Business School.
You will participate in relevant Boards of Study and School meetings; you will assist with examination and other marking under the direction of the relevant Module Leader.
It is essential that you register as a staff candidate for a course of supervised study leading to the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the University of South Wales. Your studies are expected to be completed by the end of the term of employment. As part of your application you will be expected to submit a detailed research proposal outlining your suggested area of study. Your progress will be reviewed annually.
You will already possess an honours degree in a relevant area with knowledge of developments in the relevant field. You will have the ability to conduct academic research and to contribute to the delivery of modules within one of the three Schools.
Candidates with the following aspirations of research specialism are particularly encouraged: Event Management; Hospitality Management; Digital Marketing.
