Manchester Museum is recruiting a part time Engagement Manager during an exciting period of change and redevelopment to work within the Museum’s award winning Learning and Engagement team, driving forward the Museum’s new vision to become a Museum for Life.
Manchester Museum is seeking an individual passionate about adult engagement and learning to join the Museum as Engagement Manager. Working within the award winning Learning and Engagement team, you will develop and deliver adult engagement programmes, as part of Museum Meets. Museum Meets is Manchester Museum’s adult learning and engagement programme – creating social learning experiences for curious adults of all ages. The current programme includes monthly events - English Corner, Urban Naturalist and After Hours and encompasses the award winning research space - the Study. You will also work closely with other colleagues in the Museum to engage a wide range of adult learners in innovative learning experiences.
This role will involve working closely with other University departments and cultural institutions. You will represent the Museum in regional, national and international contexts, advocating for the Museum’s learning work and disseminating good practice and research findings.
You will manage budgets related to engagement programmes and oversee administrative processes that ensure effective and excellent experiences for all visitors. You will bring entrepreneurial ideas to this role, as well as being flexible and imaginative in your approach to managing a large, diverse team and programme.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as black and minority ethnic (BME) candidates are currently under-represented at this level in this area, we would particularly welcome applications from BME applicants. All appointments will be made on merit.
