A unique opportunity has arisen to join a small, vibrant and hard-working team at the heart of UCL’s busy student-facing support service, on a three-year fixed-term contract. Responsible for the delivery of a programme of opportunities for students to gain international experience as part of their UCL studies, the Study Abroad Team work to promote global student mobility across the institution, providing a range of services for students considering, preparing for, or undertaking, a study abroad placement.
The role of Short Mobilities Coordinator is an exciting chance for an experienced international higher education professional to join the team and help shape our offering of short-term international opportunities for UCL students. The post-holder will be expected to develop and support a range of activities which cater to the needs of students at all levels, supporting the implementation of the UCL Global Engagement Strategy and UCL 2034.
Responsibilities will include developing, promoting and supporting a range of short-term international mobility programmes, providing resources to aid students in maximising the benefits of their mobility programme, working with academic departments to identify opportunities to integrate mobility into new or existing activities and undertaking projects to support effective delivery of innovative global mobility opportunities across the institution. This work will be undertaken in collaboration with colleagues in the Study Abroad Team, wider Student Support and Wellbeing Team, across Student and Registry Services and from other divisions of the organisation, notably the Global Engagement Office, Vice Provost Education Office, Student Recruitment Marketing, UCL Careers and academic departments.
This post is funded until 31st July 2019 in the first instance.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication ( verbal and written), administrative and organisational skills, be able to work autonomously and with a team when required and be comfortable liaising with a wide range of people at different levels of the organisation and external agencies. You should have excellent attention to detail and be confident using a range of technology to accomplish your work. If you are a motivated, organised and committed team player with an eye for innovation, this role could be for you.
