Liverpool Hope University is a vibrant community with high scholarly standards. We are proud of our past, confident in our present and ambitious for our future. Research is central to our curriculum development and enhancement and all academic staff at the University engage in research. Building upon our REF 2014 submission we are looking with ambition and confidence to the next REF, strengthening even further our research degree programme (PhD and EdD). This developing research expertise builds upon and complements our already well established reputation for excellence in teaching and learning. Our policy is to combine these elements of our work in keeping with the University’s stated academic profile as a research-informed teaching University of distinction. It is in this context that we now seek scholars in a number of areas who will join with us in pursuit of excellence; these opportunities include the post of: Professional Tutor/Senior Professional Tutor in Primary Foundation Curriculum
The School of Teacher Education at Liverpool Hope is expanding. Building upon our success, evidenced most recently by exceptional results in the national student satisfaction survey and our employability statistics, we are now seeking an outstanding colleague to join us to make a major contribution to the development of our primary teacher education provision. This is a role of considerable significance, and we are looking for an applicant who has the professional expertise, drive and ambition to build on current strengths to work with others to develop all-round outstanding provision for our students. The person appointed will have high-level expertise in one area within the primary foundation curriculum and an ability to contribute also to others. The appointment is at either Grade 7, Professional Tutor, or, for an exceptional candidate, Grade 8, Senior Professional Tutor, on the pay scale.
As a University Tutor you will make a contribution equal in value to but different in focus from our research-active lecturing staff. It will be your responsibility to inform our provision with the very best practice and help form our graduates into top-class, scholarly and confident professionals. You will have the opportunity to provide input into both PGCE and BAQTS provision and in other ways to contribute to what is a central part of the University’s overall academic and professional portfolio.
We are looking for the best tutors: those who will bring enthusiasm and a sense of vocation for their chosen profession. Bringing substantial, recent and relevant professional experience, you will be looking for an opportunity to work with others to ensure that a Hope Newly Qualified Teacher will be an effective, reflective, fully-informed and committed shaper of the future. If your passion matches our ambition we would be delighted to hear from you.
