Tissue Bank Applications Developer

Applications are sought for a Tissue Bank Applications Developer to support the BCI portfolio of tissue banks, with design, build, validation and maintenance of databases. The post will be based in the Director’s Office, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.

Essential requirements for this post include A levels or equivalent and experience of designing, building and maintaining databases such as Oracle as well as JAVA programming. Experience of using version control systems and common build tools such as Maven is desirable. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work independently and be able to prioritise a varied workload are also essential.

The post is for one year. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

The Barts Cancer Institute requires that applicants invited for interview will need to provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
