Here at Cranfield, we can offer you the opportunity and resources to really develop your career. Cranfield Defence and Security (CDS) provides unique educational opportunities to the defence and security sectors of both public and private sector organisations.
The Centre for Defence Acquisition (CfDA), part of Cranfield Defence and Security located within the UK Defence Academy at Shrivenham, is responsible for a range of defence-related education programmes and courses at post-graduate level. CfDA is constantly developing new areas of research and business related to the planning, specification, procurement and support through-life of capability and associated equipment assets and services across defence and the wider public sector.
As the cost and complexity of delivering defence capability increases, more and more countries are seeking a through-life approach to the procurement and support of defence equipment and systems. In order to respond to these opportunities within the UK and overseas we are seeking a Lecturer to undertake research and teaching in the field of Capability Management, focusing on the defence sector. You will contribute to our flagship Defence Acquisition Management MSc and other MSc programmes, and to a range of continuous professional development (CPD) courses and consultancy services. You will also engage in leading-edge research and identify, develop, and deliver new business.

• An academic role, specialising in Capability Management or similar
• As a Capability Management practitioner in the defence, public sector, or related industry sector, with potential to develop in the academic environment.
You will have experience of publishing in Peer Reviewed Journals and have subject matter expertise in Capability Management and Post-graduate educational techniques.
You must have a developing track record in teaching, and a clear research and publications plan.
You will have the ability to deliver products (i.e. educational programmes, research reports) to quality, cost and time requirements in a demanding and fast moving environment.
