About the Role
Working within the new IT Applications and Online Services Team, the function of this role is to primarily provide specialist support and troubleshoot day to day activity within key Business Information Systems within the College in relation to a variety of departments and business activities.
The post holder will contribute significantly to the ongoing development of systems functionality by in depth analysis of business processes and procedures and writing requirements that feed into ongoing systems development work in support of projects, initiatives and long term goals. The identification and delivery of training to systems users is also a key feature of the position as well as being key in the testing and rolling out of new systems functionality as it evolves.
Occasional travel will be required.
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a related subject or with equivalent demonstrable experience you will have excellent problem solving skills within a business environment and an understanding of relational databases and query or reporting tools. An understanding of software development processes and lifecycle as well as experience in participating in workshops and other meetings are essential as is knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office.
You will have the ability to write user stories and requirements and a clear understanding of the role of information systems and their role and integration in a small or medium sized business. Experience of administering one or more business information systems is essential.
An understanding of Service Oriented Architectures, Crystal reports and Microsoft Reporting Services is desirable.
