The Royal College of Pathologists - Clinical Effectiveness Department

We are looking for an experienced Administrator with an interest in working in science or healthcare.

The successful candidate will support the Clinical Effectiveness department and work closely with doctors and scientists who are members of the Royal College of Pathologists.  The role will focus on supporting production of clinical guidelines, as well as supporting the department’s work on quality improvement and clinical audit in pathology services.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, with previous office administration experience supporting a busy team of specialists or professionals.  You will have experience of setting up systems and processes, and ensuring others adhere to them.  In addition, you will have excellent written English, with the ability to proof-read and edit documents, spotting errors that others may have missed.

The main duties include:

  • Providing administrative support to authors and working groups writing clinical guidelines.
  • Co-ordinating a system to regularly update published guidelines.
  • Proofreading and editing draft guidelines.
  • Administration of the process of accreditation of clinical guidelines by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
  • Reviewing and processing clinical audit applications and responding to queries
