Purpose and Main Duties
Working closely with academic and administrative staff from across the College to maintain and develop the School’s web presence into an effective recruitment and profile building platform that maximises recruitment and showcases the School's research and teaching excellence. This will involve both bespoke content development and engagement with web tools and social media to encourage repeat visits from prospective students, the wider academic community and other stakeholders. The post holder will work autonomously and have considerable scope to exercise judgement and work creatively.

About the Department
Although the youngest of the six London University Law Schools, Birkbeck School of Law houses a large and expanding community. Founded in 1992, the School has grown from 3 members of academic staff to a body of 33 and a student intake of 941 in 2014-15.

Research at the School of Law centres on critical legal theory, philosophy, and socio-legal approaches to Law and Criminology. We are a top 10 research institution in the UK and top 3 in London, while our research environment was judged conducive to producing research of the highest quality.

Salary: Grade 6 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £32,042 rising to £36,548 per annum.

This post is full time, 35 hours per week (1.0 FTE) and open-ended. The salary quoted above is on the College's London Pay Scale and includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area. The initial salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment is subject to a probationary period of 6 months. Birkbeck also provides a generous defined benefit pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible working arrangements and other great benefits.
