Research Assistant: £26,829 - £28,452.
Research Associate: £29,301 - £31,076.
The main objective of this post will involve becoming a key member of the Ageing Geriatrics & Epidemiology Group and working on an exciting range of interdisciplinary research studies. You will be based within the Institute of Neuroscience with Professor Avan Aihie Sayer, Director of the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre and Professor of Geriatric Medicine.
You must have a first degree (1st/2:1) and an MSc in Health Sciences or closely related subject for appointment at Research Assistant level. A PhD is essential for appointment at Research Associate level. Applicants without a PhD would be encouraged to undertake and complete a PhD within the timelines specified by the university’s PhD regulations. You will have experience of working in a research environment, in handling clinical information and in protocol writing and submission of studies to regulatory bodies.
You will have: up to date knowledge and experience of research design, experience of delivery and governance; experience of handling clinical information; experience of working within an interdisciplinary team; strong verbal and written communication skills; evidence of scientific writing (desirable); a high level of computer literacy; and a flexible approach and willingness to travel. You will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual.
