Facilities Management (or ‘FM’) is the collection of soft services that support the day to day operation of our buildings. We aim to create a welcoming, clean and safe environment for all students, staff and visitors on campus. In 2014, the team achieved the Best Practise for Cleaning in Higher Education Award.

FM services include Reception, Postal Services, Domestic Services, Portering, as well as supporting Estates colleagues to deliver maintenance, repairs and inspections. Five Facilities Managers operate across our Manchester and Crewe sites. Our services are provided in house and are co-ordinated by Facilities Team Leaders and Domestic Team Leaders. We offer staff great training and development opportunities including NVQ qualifications. MMU is also an Accredited Training Centre for the British Institute for Cleaning Science (BICSc), where all Domestic staff can attain professional accreditation.

The vision for Residential Services is to provide an excellent student residential experience; by developing a student-led approach to community and welfare, supported by best in sector security, welfare and facilities management. This is an exciting new role and the post holder will be a pivotal member of the Residential Services team in delivering this vision.


The role of the Residential Customer Services Advisor will be to support the Residential Facilities Management of the halls of residence at the All Saints Campus. You will provide first level information and advice to students, visitors and staff within Residential Facilities acting as a triage point directing them to appropriate sources of information or relevant functions. You will provide professional and efficient administrative service supporting the Residential Team within the Halls of Residence.

This role will require you to work the following shift pattern - night shift: 3 on/3 off 21.00 - 07.15. This also includes a generous shift allowance.
