You will line manage the Sports Development Team in expanding the existing sports program ensuring it is attractive to all participants regardless of ability. This is part of our philosophy of ‘more people, more active, more often’.
Lead and line manage the sports development team on a daily basis and ensure all activities are carried out to a high standard.
Continue to develop the coaching and officiating bursary program and offer student volunteering opportunities within Kent Sport activities.
Aim to increase participation levels through the introduction of more diverse student / staff friendly timetables.
Ensure that all activities are safe.
You will enjoy leading and working as part of the sports development team in providing a substantial sport & physical activity program to staff & students at the University of Kent. You will also enjoy playing a pivotal role within the department's line management team.
You will have excellent knowledge of event planning and management and have a proven track record of delivering sport & physical activities to a high standard. A DBS check is required for this role.
Kent Sport has grown significantly as a department in recent years both in terms of its staffing structure, but also the facilities and services available to its members. The department provides facilities and a diverse health, fitness & sporting programme to nearly 20,000 students, 3,000 staff and the community as a whole across our campuses. It is a sporting hub for the county.
The responsibilities of Kent Sport are many and varied from playing a vital strategic role within the University to building strong relationships with National Governing Bodies, County & local councils as well as local sports clubs and organisations.
