Nottingham Trent University has developed a reputation as one of the UK’s leading modern higher education institutions. This is based on its comprehensive and innovative academic offering, its relevant research excellence, and its deep-rooted links with business, public sector partners and civic institutions. Following the launch of the 2015-2020 Strategic Plan, the University continues to innovate and invest in its engagement with employers and economic partners.
As part of this, the Employer and Economic Engagement (EEE) directorate was formed following the appointment of the Pro Vice Chancellor EEE in February 2016. A new strategy for external engagement has been developed, which prioritises building strategic multifaceted relationships with key partners, particularly those at local and regional level.
Working to the Head of Local and Economic Engagement, the Economic Partnership Manager will play a leading role in developing our relationships with local, regional and, in some cases, national economic partners. They will explore how the knowledge, expertise and resources of the University can harnessed to support their aims and objectives. The role will work closely with other members of the Local and Economic Engagement team in order to exploit the opportunities that emerge from these partnerships, generate further investment into the University and deliver outcomes that match fully the desired outcomes of the funders. This work will directly contribute to the University’s strategic commitment of creating opportunities and enriching society through our support for economic development in the City, the region and the UK.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have experience of developing relationships with economic development partners and agencies. They will have good knowledge of the Midlands business environment and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with external and internal partners.
