Research Associate* in the Nuclear Engineering Group
Salary in the range: £36,070 - £43,350 per annum*

The Nuclear Engineering Group wishes to appoint a Research Associate to conduct research into the development and application of CFD tools to buoyancy driven flows in geometries representative of conduits found in Nuclear Energy plants. The project is aimed at safety analysis and potential enhanced safety of future plant design. It is funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Science Research Council with the objective of supporting UK-India collaboration in this field.
Applicants will hold a PhD (or equivalent,) in an area pertinent to the research subject ie Engineering and a first degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or in an area pertinent to the research subject. Experience in using mainstream CFD codes and/or developing own codes for fluid flow simulation is essential. In depth knowledge of turbulence and its modelling is required. You should also have a good research track record, as evidenced by relevant publications in good journals.
