An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and ambitious Marketing & Communications Manager to join University College London Union (UCLU) as they enter a significant phase in their development. This is a key role for an experienced marketeer who is looking for a unique opportunity to lead this department and make a difference to the lives of existing and future students. 

UCLU is the representative body for University College London’s (UCL) 37,000 students. UCLU is a not for profit charity employing over 90 full-time staff who work with seven elected student Sabbatical Officers to deliver a wide range of services and representative functions to one of the most diverse student communities in the world.

UCLU’s Student Engagement & Communication department is responsible for improving the student experience at UCL through student-led change. The role of the Marketing & Communications Manager is to lead on this, developing a strong voice for the Union, communicating the positive work it does and ensuring UCL students are aware of its services and help in creating the services of the future.

This role gives you the space to use all your marketing experience, insight and skills, from grass roots research to delivery, in an environment that’s rewarding, values driven and meaningful.

An ability to draw on an excellent leadership and management skills with an understanding of the higher education sector combined with proven outstanding relationship and marketing skills to deliver the Union’s communications and marketing strategy will be key elements to success in this role. With demonstrable and significant experience in service marketing, most likely gained within a complex environment, the successful candidate will also be able to turn research into strategy and strategy into student led services and events.

It is likely the preferred candidate will have worked successfully in a similar environment where the focus has been on developing and enhancing a unique brand which has been effectively communicated to an intricate stakeholder base.
