The role reports to the Head of IT - Science and Horticulture working in a team-based environment with other service and management professionals reporting into the Head of Corporate Service.

Kew has developed and deployed a considerable number of niche applications which facilitate the workflows of the Science and Horticulture departments. These must be supported, maintained and transitioned away from failing legacy hardware into cloud based, containerised infrastructure.

They must be adequately documented, prioritisations agreed with stakeholders and resourced appropriately. This role is pivotal to this and you will be working with a mix of old and new software technologies.

This primary function of this role is to support, monitor and maintain the existing Scientific Applications. Other responsibilities will be spent developing new applications and assisting with migrating applications away from legacy hosting mechanisms.

Salary will be £26,067 to £35,505 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Benefits include competitive annual leave allowance, excellent pension, a flexible benefits scheme, as well as a great working environment.
