The College of Engineering Design and Physical Sciences is looking to recruit a highly-skilled Technician for the Model Making and Wood based workshops within the Design Department. Your role will involve providing comprehensive technical support and training to staff and students in the design, development and construction of prototypes and models relating to projects and also in delivering workshop training to undergraduate students. We would like to hear from experienced crafts people from a model making, prototyping or cabinet making background. Experience in the use of woodworking machinery would be highly desirable.
You will be qualified to HNC level/City & Guilds/BTec or equivalent and be strongly experienced. Good technical knowledge and an interest in design and prototyping are essential. Experience with CAD/CAM and CNC machinery is desirable.
We want to hear from you if you have the necessary technical qualifications and have excellent oral, written communication and computer skills. It is also essential that you have the ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
