Salary: Appointment will be made on the Professorial Salary Scale (€106,516 - €136,276 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.

The Department of Political Science, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin is seeking to appoint a Professor of Political Science to fill the Chair of Political Science (1960). Professorship is the highest academic post within the College. The holder of a Professorship plays a central leadership role in regard to the development of the relevant discipline and represents it at a senior level inside and outside the College. The qualifications for appointment to such a position are as follows: high academic distinction with the capacity to provide leadership in the development of the subject and in the promotion of teaching and research; capacity to represent effectively the discipline inside and outside the College; capacity to act as Head of an academic unit; a willingness to participate in the overall life of College. It is expected that the Professor of Political Science will assume the role of Head of Department upon arrival, or imminently thereafter.
