This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, dynamic team working to produce top-class assessments. The role of the Science Assessment Manager will suit an experienced physics specialist looking for a new challenge.
Who we are
Cambridge International Examinations is the world's largest provider of international qualifications for 5-19 year olds. Our qualifications are taken in over 160 countries and recognised by universities, education providers and employers across the world. We are part of the Cambridge Assessment Group, a not-for-profit organisation and a department of the University of Cambridge. We share in their mission of providing excellence in education.
What it’s about
The position will be part of the Assessment Projects Group. The Group is working on fast-moving projects with international clients to produce new assessments which fit with new curricula.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be managing syllabus production processes, working with subject specialists on the production of test specifications, sample material and ultimately the assessment material itself. You’ll be checking, proofing and signing off question papers and mark schemes as well as managing examiners and ensuring the assessments are accurately graded to make sure that results are reliable.
What we’re looking for
An enthusiastic team player who is self-motivating and confident in the specialist area of physics. You’ll be a physics graduate, ideally with experience in teaching (possibly in an international context) and likely to have knowledge of assessment issues as well as science subject knowledge. A keen problem solver with meticulous accuracy, you will have a proven ability to manage your workload when under pressure to meet multiple deadlines and will enjoy contributing to the success of Cambridge International Examinations.
The closing date for receipt of applications is the 29th October with video interviews on 7th November and interviews in Cambridge on 18th November 2016 for shortlisted applicants.
As part of your recruitment process you will be required to undergo a background screening. This will be carried out by our selected supplier, Credence Background Screening Limited.
