The appointment will be on UCL Grade 5.
The Development Planning Unit (DPU) is an international centre specialising in academic teaching, practical training, research and consultancy in the field of urban and regional development and planning. It has an academic staff of 31 and offers postgraduate education through its research degree (MPhil/PhD) programme and six MSc/Pg Diploma programmes to approximately 200 international students each year.
The post holder works closely with seven other members of the professional services staff in the Unit, taking responsibility for a variety of duties that support the wide range of departmental activities. The role is vital to the Unit’s public relations and provides a significant contribution to the successful functioning of the DPU. The post holder also takes responsibility for managing and maintaining the general main office, assisting staff with reception and administrative tasks, providing IT support, facilities maintenance and assisting with the production of publications. The post is funded for a period of six months.
Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal, oral, writing and IT skills. Previous administration experience and the ability to work well in a team are important.
The ablility to establish priorities in a multi-task workload and have strong organisational skills are essential for the post.
