Grade: 7 to 8 - £28,452 to £32,004 per annum (pro-rata if part time), together with USS pension benefits, if required

We are seeking applications for a Research Assistant to join the Sêr Solar team in the College of Engineering’s Materials Research Centre on an EPSRC funded ‘Solar Grand Challenge’ project. The successful applicant will be responsible for the characterization of degradation phenomena of perovskite and organic solar cells affecting their performance, targeting in using and developing advanced Raman spectroscopic techniques to study degradation mechanisms related to the interlayers and electrodes of the devices. The successful applicant will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team targeting the development and evaluation of printed solar cells, and will also be expected to work closely with collaborators in this project including Imperial College London (Professor Jenny Nelson), Sheffield University (Professor David Lidzey) and Ossila Ltd. The applicant will be responsible for the characterization of the photovoltaic devices and small modules (including the interlayers) using Raman spectroscopy.
