Lecturer in Accounting and Finance

Staffordshire University - Faculty of Business, Education & Law

Location: Stoke campus

Interview Date: Wednesday 07 December 2016

The Business School has a well-established reputation for providing an innovative portfolio which includes undergraduate, postgraduate and commercial course provision in the area of accounting and finance. We wish to complement our existing, experienced and very successful Accounting and Accounting Team, belonging to the Financial and Operational Performance Academic Group, with a suitably experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual seeking to further their career in Higher Education.

In the NSS 2016 survey, our Accounting and Finance team is ranked 1st out of 119 institutions for the enthusiasm they demonstrate through their teaching for their subject area. 97% of our students are satisfied with the quality of the course. In the role of Lecturer you will report to the Academic Group Leader, Financial and Operational Performance. You will teach and assess students across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to accounting and non-accounting students, specifically financial accounting and financial reporting plus contemporary aspects of forensic and environmental accounting. We will also look to you to help shape our teaching and learning strategies to explicitly enhance the student experience through the use of technology and a practice problem based learning approach.

You must be an enthusiastic, reliable, flexible lecturer with business experience. You should hold a professional accountancy qualification and preferably qualified to master's degree level in an appropriate subject or be working towards a PhD.
