Recently ranked 4th in the Guardian League Table for UK Universities and shortlisted by the Sunday Times for the University of the Year Award, The University of Surrey is looking to recruit a talented and experienced Internal Communications Manager within our central team to support staff engagement and leadership communications with staff and students.
The Internal Communications Manager will be a qualified communications professional with extensive experience of internal communications, corporate counsel and using segmentation and insight to develop clear communications action plans for internal audiences. The success of this work will have a very significant impact on the future success and overall financial health of the University.
You will be an active member of the Communications and Public Relations leadership team ensuring staff and student engagement activity are effectively planned and executed. They will be required to balance the needs of the faculties, academics and commercially agree priorities. As such you will have outstanding customer relationship building and interpersonal skills.
You will be joining at an exciting time of change and opportunity and will be required to contribute immediately and provide strong project management experience. Experience of working in a corporate communications team is desirable. Excellent copywriting, leadership, planning, influencing and communication skills are essential with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
