Disability and Wellbeing Team
As a large and dynamic university with a diverse student profile, we are committed to ensuring that our students receive a range of high quality, integrated services which enhance the overall quality of student life and enable them to achieve their full potential.
Our Disability and Wellbeing teams bring together a range of practitioners to meet the needs of students in a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach. The Student Wellbeing, Disability Advice and Disability Assessment Centre teams have recently integrated under one Head of Service to provide more holistic support for students. The new service forms part of Services for Students, along with our Student Hub, Student Information and Advice, and Employability and Progression teams. We have a vacancy for a suitably qualified disability practitioner to join the expanding team at this exciting time, contributing to the further development of inclusive and accessible services for disabled students.
As a member of the Disability Advice team, you will work with colleagues both internal and external to our University to ensure the delivery of excellent services to a broad range of students, as well as to develop and deliver training and awareness sessions to a wide range of staff and maximise partnership approaches in supporting students.
You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, preferably hold a post-graduate qualification in a disability-related area and have substantial experience of managing a large caseload disabled students in a Higher Education context. You will also have a good understanding of the changes to funding for disabled students and the inclusive practice agenda.
Please note that this post is subject to a criminal record check (enhanced level).
