Administrative Assistant to the Cambridge Blood and Stem Cell Biobank

Applications are invited for an Administrative Assistant to provide an overall administrative and secretarial support within the Cambridge Blood and Stem Cell Biobank (CBSB) within the Department of Haematology on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The role holder will provide support to CBSB and in particular its Lead Scientist. Secretarial duties will include coordination of meetings, minute taking, making bookings for external events and correspondence with other university departments and hospitals. Financial tasks will include keeping track of income and ensuring that it is received. The role will also involve promoting CBSB to potential donors by creating print and digital materials.

Experience in administrative or secretarial roles at an appropriate level is essential, as are excellent organisational skills, a good eye for detail and a flexible working approach. A scientific background or experience in a clinical environment would be helpful but is not essential.  Experience with medical reporting or accounts would be highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be educated to A level standard or equivalent.

This post is part-time working 0.4FTE, hours negotiable.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 August 2017 in the first instance.
