We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated research assistant to work on a mixed methods research study in collaboration between University of Bath Psychology department and University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (Funded by Above and Beyond).
The research assistant will be based within the Psychology Department at the University of Bath, but will also hold an honorary contract with University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.
The research will involve travel to participant homes throughout the South West to collect questionnaire and interview data looking at children and young people’s adjustment to living with scars caused by heart surgery.
The aim of the research is to help develop ways of identifying children and young people at risk of adjustment difficulties to scars caused by heart surgery, and develop targeted interventions to help prepare them for scars, and promote positive adjustment following surgery.
The research assistant will be key in the co-ordination and day-to-day running of the project, and will be working largely autonomously.
This is a fixed term, part time post (0.3 TFE, 10.95 flexible hours per week) for up to 12 months with an anticipated start date in November 2016 or as close to this date as possible.
