The salary for this post will be from £26,052 per annum on Grade E depending on qualifications and experience

The University of Exeter is investing in a directorate of Innovation, Impact and Business to drive forward its relationships with business, grow its potential for impact and drive regional innovation.

Innovation, Impact and Business (IIB) aims to bring a new focus to partnerships and collaborative working with external, non-university partners and to drive place-based innovation. It will work at the interface between Research and Education and will collaborate closely with the Research Support and Global Engagement and Development teams as part of a complex eco-system. Its key aim is to secure significantly greater income and impact from relationships with partners drawing on the University’s education, research and physical assets. This includes curriculum development, skills, placements, education links/branded degrees with business and business related-student recruitment, as well as research collaboration and commercial partnerships.

The Innovation, Impact and Business Directorate is looking for an Executive Personal Assistant, who will provide high level executive support to the Director and will also be part of the wider operations team who support IIB, Research Services and the Doctoral College.

Main responsibilities for the role include:

  • Being the first point of contact for the Directors office and visitors
  • Managing external client information and priorities
  • Providing diary management support and workload co-ordination for the Director. This will include co-ordinating appointments, briefings and logistical arrangements for internal and external visits
  • Organising and ensuring that the Director are fully prepared for meetings including attending meetings, briefings etc. and minuting as appropriate
  • Arranging travel and accommodation

The successful candidate would have significant previous experience in an executive PA position, supporting a senior role in the public or private sector along with excellent organisational, time management, written and oral skills. They must also have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

The successful applicant will join an existing operations team based at the University's Innovation Centre in Exeter. They will be based at the Exeter office but will have frequent contact with the team in Cornwall.
