The Water Research Institute was recently launched as part of Cardiff University’s flagship research Institutes to address key societal challenges. Bringing together 7 Schools (Biosciences, Engineering, Chemistry, Business, Earth Sciences, Psychology and Geography), the Institute focuses on addressing the challenge of ‘Water for people and ecosystems in a changing world’. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, skilled and experienced post-doctoral researcher to develop, both independently and as a team, a set of research objectives and research proposals within the water sciences. The successful candidate will have an established expertise on water ecosystems, and be able to demonstrate a growing national reputation within this field. The role requires excellent communication skills to develop the interface between the Water URI 50 researchers and a range of water sector research organisations, in particular with the Water URI partner CEH (Center for Ecology and Hydrology), acting as the main contact point between the two organisations.
The post holder will lead or undertake research projects, to contribute to the research record of the Water Research Institute through commitment to carrying out research leading to the publishing of work in high-quality journals, pursuing excellence in research and to inspire others to do the same.
This position is fixed-term for 4 years and full time.
Salary: £40,082 - £46,414 per annum (Grade 7)
