The salary will be paid at Grade 7, £40,523 to £42,955 per annum, plus £2,623 per annum London Allowance.
This post is to cover maternity leave and will be full time on a fixed term contract at 35 hours per week. The post is for 12 months or until the return of the substantive post holder.
The Operational Assurance team is a dynamic and busy team which exists to work both within Estates & Facilities and the wider University environment to ensure that the University performs all of its health & safety legislative and statutory duties. This role is principally involved with Asbestos and Legionella Management across the university so as to meet the College’s duty to manage asbestos (as stipulated under Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012) and as an assurance of continued safe water hygiene management to control the risk from Legionella bacteria in accordance with the HSE Approved Code of Practice L8.
The role holder will work closely with the overarching Health & Safety Services team, IT Teams as well being an integral part of the operation of Estates and Facilities – ranging from involvement with Capital Projects, Campus Operations and Asset Maintenance/Improvement.
Candidates will have experience of managing asbestos related works across a multi-site estate, including asbestos projects (surveys & remediation), maintenance of an in-house electronic asbestos register and re-inspection regime. Candidates all also expected to have experience in domestic water legionella risk assessments, contract management and auditing.
We seek candidates who are able to think analytically, possess attention to detail, are confident and persuasive communicators with excellent written English, and who can successfully manage a diverse and very busy workload autonomously.
The selection process will include competency based questions and a panel interview.
