The University of Leicester is a world-leading institution, marked by a belief in the synergy of research and teaching. With over 23,000 students, including 4,300 from overseas, and 3,800 staff, including over 1,200 active researchers, we believe a university should empower, inspire and innovate. Under the leadership of our President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Boyle, the University is entering an exciting new phase of development with an ambitious and transformative agenda for 2020 and beyond.
Midlands Innovation is a world-class research and innovation partnership, combining the collective excellence of leading universities in the heart of the UK. The partnership unites university research with the unique strengths of Midlands industry to drive cutting-edge research, innovation and skills development.
This role will provide operational leadership to establish Midlands Health Innovation, a project led by the Deans of Medicine and Healthcare from the six research-intensive universities aimed at positioning medical research across the East and West Midlands as a major contributor to the Midlands Engine
This role is key in the development and delivery of the Midlands Health Innovation Strategy and will support the strategic development and effective delivery and implementation of a portfolio of collaborative initiatives. You will identify new collaborative opportunities to grow the portfolio of projects across the university partners and provide high-level support and coordination for bids to external funders including international organisations and collaborators. You will play a key role in scoping high quality research, and in identifying and promoting opportunities to optimise the impact of that research through Midlands Engine support.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Lucy Alexander, Head of Research and Enterprise Partnerships on email@example.com.
