Additional Information: This is a part time (14.8 hours per week), fixed term post for up to 6 months, starting 02 January 2017 and is subject to QR funding and/or project completion. Please note the above salary is pro rata.
This post will build on existing research relationships between the theory and practice of fashion and ageing to develop funding proposals and literature to support the application of an interdisciplinary design methodology that responds to the physical and emotional needs of mature women (60+).
The successful applicant will work on identifying funding streams, preparing and submitting proposals and extending the literature review to consolidate the existing research. There may also be also be opportunities to be involved in creative workshops with participants. The work will be supported by and contribute to the Digital Craft and Embodied Knowledge research community at the University.
Applicants should be educated to postgraduate degree level in an appropriate subject area such as Fashion Design, Textile Design, Anthropology or Psychology. The successful candidate will also possess an undergraduate degree in a related subject or have equivalent work experience.
A thorough understanding of practice-based research techniques and methods is required.
It is also essential that you are able to work as part of a team whilst being able to communicate effectively with a wide range of diverse stakeholders.
